MIPRO AT-90W Wideband UHF Directional Antenna for Professional Wireless Microphone Systems

Product Introduction

The MIPRO AT-90W is a professional wideband UHF directional antenna designed for reliable wireless microphone RF reception and transmission. Operating across a wide 470–1000 MHz frequency range, the AT-90W is suitable for professional wireless microphone installations where improved RF coverage, longer reception distance and stable signal performance are required.

Featuring a directional 4–6 dBi antenna gain, dual TX/RX and RX connectors, and a built-in 0–12 dB adjustable booster on the RX connection, the AT-90W helps compensate for coaxial cable signal loss while improving reception range and RF signal quality.

Its distinctive W-shaped antenna design and water-resistant construction make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor professional AV installations, including auditoriums, houses of worship, universities, conference halls, theatres, event venues and large wireless microphone systems.

Product Description

The MIPRO AT-90W Wideband UHF Antenna is a bi-functional log antenna engineered for both professional receiving and transmitting applications.

Its wide 470–1000 MHz UHF operating range provides excellent flexibility for modern wireless microphone installations and is optimized for compatibility with current US and EU telecommunications frequency requirements.

The AT-90W provides 4–6 dBi directional antenna gain, making it particularly useful in installations where RF signals need to be focused toward a specific stage, performance area, podium or event space. Directional reception can help improve desired wireless microphone signals while reducing unwanted RF signals arriving from other directions.

Dual-Connector Design

The AT-90W features two TNC female connectors for flexible system configuration:

TX/RX Connector

The TX/RX connector can be connected to either a compatible transmitter or receiver. When used with a receiver, connection through a short coaxial cable is recommended.

RX Connector with Adjustable Booster

The dedicated RX connector is designed for receiver applications and incorporates a 0–12 dB ±1 dB adjustable RF booster.

This allows the antenna system to compensate for RF losses caused by longer coaxial antenna cables, helping maintain better signal strength and reception quality at the wireless microphone receiver.

For gain-controlled operation, booster power can be supplied by the MIPRO AD-708 Antenna Divider. Compatible MIPRO ACT Series receivers can also provide the required bias when used with an AD-702 Auto Gain Controller.

For a complete diversity antenna system with the MIPRO AD-708, 2 × AT-90W antennas are required.

Professional RF Solution

Problem: Wireless Microphone Dropouts or Weak Reception

Large venues can experience weak RF signals, interference and wireless microphone dropouts, particularly when receivers are installed far away from the stage.

Solution: Install the MIPRO AT-90W directional antennas and aim them toward the main wireless microphone operating area. The directional design helps provide stronger and more focused RF coverage for the receiver system.

Problem: Long Antenna Cables Cause RF Signal Loss

When wireless microphone receivers are installed inside a control room or equipment rack, long coaxial cables may be required between the antennas and receivers. Longer cable runs introduce RF signal loss.

Solution: Use the AT-90W's dedicated RX connection with 0–12 dB adjustable booster gain to compensate for appropriate coaxial cable losses and maintain better RF signal quality.

Problem: Large Multi-Channel Wireless Microphone Installation

Connecting separate antennas to every wireless receiver can result in excessive cabling and a complicated equipment rack.

Solution: Combine 2 × MIPRO AT-90W antennas with the MIPRO AD-708 antenna divider/distribution systemto create a cleaner and more professional antenna distribution solution for compatible multi-channel wireless microphone installations.

Problem: Antennas Need to Be Installed Away from the Receiver Rack

In auditoriums, churches, conference halls and event venues, the best antenna location may be close to the stage while the wireless receivers are installed inside a distant control room.

Solution: Position the AT-90W antennas for better line-of-sight coverage toward the wireless microphone operating area and use the adjustable booster to compensate for suitable coaxial cable loss between the antenna and receiver system.

Recommended Applications

The MIPRO AT-90W Professional UHF Directional Antenna is ideal for:

  • Auditoriums and multipurpose halls
